Just Because Art - Art Book Review - THE ROGUE ARTIST’S SURVIVAL GUIDE, BY RAFI PEREZ

THE ROGUE ARTIST’S SURVIVAL GUIDE, BY RAFI PEREZ

"OK, let’s get real... It’s hard to find a book on the business of art that actually delivers what the cover promises. This book delivers it in spades."— Everett Stanton

An undisciplined, story-centric, off-beat, and honest approach to demystifying the mindset of becoming a full-time artist. It is designed to help you navigate the cluster fudge that is the art world. This book is all about blazing your own trail and creating your career as an artist, instead of waiting around to be discovered. Rafi’s website can be found at rafiandklee.com

EV’S REVIEW:

OK, let's get real... It's hard to find a book on the business of art that actually delivers what the cover promises. This book delivers it in spades. In The Rogue Artist’s Survival guide, Artist Rafi Perez not only talks the talk but walks the walk, living every day the art life that he talks about in his book. The book is a practical, no-nonsense, and unvarnished look at living life as a working artist who is actually making a living working in art. If you are looking for a new read on a set of old problems, I could not recommend this book more highly. The book’s tone is motivational meets practical advice, but never comes off preachy - more guide by the side, like a friend who is a few steps out on the bridge, helping you figure out how to get out there on your own terms. This book, and this artist, are now a part of my everyday studio life. I hope you’ll take the opportunity to wander over to Rafi, and Klee’s (his wife) universe to enjoy their numerous videos and podcasts and let some of their light shine on you.
