When A Roofer Calls...

I was feeling a bit, "where am I going with all this?" yesterday. Then a guy decided to walk up to the garage (pretty much ignoring my obvious Les Miserables garage barricade of protection) He said, "Hey, I'm doing some work on my cousin's house across the street from you, and I saw a bunch of the artwork from his roof. My daughter wants to be a real artist, like you. Do you mind if I take a picture from where I am standing here and send it to her to show her that people like you really exist in the world?" I was shocked. Not sure what to say, I just garbled out, "Um, sure? I guess..." Then, without skipping a beat, he asked if I would mind arranging the art so that he could get a better shot! Hilarious. He took photos, then asked me to step into some of the pictures. OK. So, I did. He said thanks and went back to working on the roof of the house. Uhhhhh. OK, then! So, I guess my inner critic got silenced by the universe and a roofer looking to inspire his 13-year-old daughter. Thanks, universe, for a little help, straightening my spine a tad. If you haven't done so yet, may I suggest gathering all of your work that you have done this year (that you still have in your possession! If not, congrats!) and take a photo of it. I had never thought to do this until this guy requested it, but it was incredibly empowering to see just how much I have done since the start of the pandemic. If you upload it, I for one would love to see it! ~Everett
